It appears more work is going to be done to Park Central. There are a few stacks of green cladding over by the 2 floor garage. Not sure where it's going to go exactly. The security guard said it's going up on one side of a building, but he didn't know where for sure. I don't see any green panels on the Creighton, Millennium or new garage renderings. So not sure where these will be going.

Not quite Park Central, but close. The St. Joe's crane has been taken down.

Interesting. I know they are trying to close their non drive-thru stores, but i would've thought this one did well. Didn't we see a proposal for a drive-thru at Park Central? Could it be possible they will build a new store there?

I could also see the old Jack-in-the-box as a teardown and rebuild for Starbucks across the street. Maybe not enough parking/drive-thru space though.

They have cut their hours back considerably. They are now only open 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM Mon. thru Fri. There was recent talk on the board about a potential drive-thru just South of the hotel that is planned. But for now all that is mentioned in the letter posted in the window,, are the stores that are on Osborne.

haha very nice! Can't believe it's gone. I was really convinced they'd remodel or rebuild. Weird small little piece of land that I'm not sure what anyone could do with. Probably couldn't even do a a proper fast food place on that land these days as they tend to need more drive thru space.

Artlink is conducting a survey for a new art installation in a 20,000 sqft basement under Park Central. Had no idea Park Central had a basement, much less 20,000 sqft of space to work with!

I think it was the lower level of the old Goldwaters department store. Used to go there with my grandmother in the 1980s as a kid. They had these amazing Mid Century lamps hanging in the escalator well, and as a reward for being patient during shopping, we‘d go to the Miracle Mile deli which used to be there, and I would look at the koi pond which was part of the restaurant....

The koi pond stayed until a couple years ago when the remodel first started but, it was the Park Central Deli at that time. That deli space has been completely closed since then. Used to enjoy getting an open faced turkey sandwich with stuffing, gravy, and mashed taters.

Looks like a developer has snatched up the empty lot at Osborn and 4th ave. Plans apartments or senior living.

One of the last empty lots in midtown!

Millennium at Park Central Update

I recently went back to the office and have a good view of the Millennium construction. They recently topped out and are getting the roof built up.

I saw a brief article about this. ABC 15 says it's a developer from Coolidge - didn't think anyone in Coolidge had money - and plans "office renovation".

Smells like land-banking, to me.

Just curious, has anyone heard anything about the hotel portion. I know around the first of the year there was talk about it moving forward, but haven't heard anything since.

It is a Home2 hotel and only have had a FACT and PAPP submitted back in 2019. The PAPP expired, so not sure if it will happen. I pulled a rec request on this a while back and it showed around 5 floors with a large triangular footprint. I'd honestly rather wait until a better development goes there, so not too worried about it if the Home2 fell through.

I don't understand what they're doing or what they all bought (i'll have to check county records later) but land banking isn't too far off.
