PITTSBURGH Lowrise and General Development Thread

Liberty East Development - Phase I opened last fall with Whole Foods as the retail anchor. The lead office tenant is Pittsburgh startup Duo Lingo. The development footprint is quite large and was slated for ALL office space. With the current climate I cannot speculate when Phase II would begin.

Rockwell Park

Rockwell Park is an innovation district a century in the making. This adaptive reuse development is located in Pittsburgh's East End neighborhood of North Point Breeze. This neighborhood was home to Rockwell, Edison, Westinghouse, Heinz, and Carnegie.

This development sneaked up on us under the radar during the pandemic. The historic preservation covers a large area. The are is virtually unchanged since the 1920's. Some of the the streets are still paved with brick.

The Julian

Located in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood the Julian will rise adjacent to Pittsburgh's auto row. The apartment is currently under construction. Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood is the epicenter of construction in the city. There are currently 6 construction cranes on the skyline vs downtowns 1.

University of Pittsburgh Sports Performance Complex

This facility is currently under construction in the shadow of the newish Peterson Events Center. The complex will be built into the hillside with a cascading green roof. The project is one block from UPMC's new hospital tower currently under construction.
