Sure, I look like a dork, but it certainly beats sunburn, and looking like a dork is par for the course anyway.

I'm not someone who burns super easily through incidental exposure outside through like walking around or cycling for a few hours. I really have to be outside for most of the day to develop a sunburn, which is why I really only use sunscreen on rare beach days and the like. Like, I don't actively avoid the sun (like my wife, who is vampire-like) but I don't actively seek it out either.
Sometimes I get a pretty prominent burn on the bridge of my nose only, with the rest of my face untouched. This time I ended up with more of a very light burn over a tan across much of my upper face, so it doesn't really look notable if you don't know what I look like already.
Eventually I'm sure I will shift to beach hats, as my hair gets thinner. Still not really in the sunburn at the top of my head phase, even though it's getting notably thinner on top.
