Quite a charming and interesting film showing the City of London (Financial District also known as 'The Square Mile') as it comes to terms with the destruction left by World War 2 and the new challenges posed by the post war world.

Weaver, a San Francisco artist, has spent the northern part of three decades and some 3,000 hours building a freakishly complex model of his beloved Baghdad by the Bay out of toothpicks -- 100,000 of them (and counting).

Public art and lighting displays installed temporarily on San Francisco's Market Street have been pulling crowds and bringing life to the street at night.

Film about the ghosts that haunt the London Underground System (The Tube)

The London Underground has been subject to many thousands of deaths from suicides, accidents and murders to terrorist attacks dating back to the 18th century right through to the recent 7th July 2005 attacks in which fifty six people died. The Underground system has also seen major national tragedies such as the 1943 Bethnal Green Station Disaster when 173 people were crushed to death whilst trying to seek shelter from German bombing. More recent tragedies include the Moorgate Station Disaster in 1975 when a London underground train failed to stop and ploughed head long in to the tunnel wall at Moorgate Station killing over 40 people and the 1987 Kings Cross Underground Station fire which killed 31 people. There are numerous other such tragedies, acts of terrorism and disasters, some of which are listed here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A17895702

Underground workers often undercover graves when completing work on the system, some dating back to the great plague of 1665 and beyond.

Physicist Geoffrey West has found that simple, mathematical laws govern the properties of cities -- that wealth, crime rate, walking speed and many other aspects of a city can be deduced from a single number: the city's population. In this mind-bending talk from TEDGlobal he shows how it works and how similar laws hold for organisms and corporations.

Iepe Rubingh, a Dutch artist, transformed a busy intersection in Berlin into a public art piece. “Painting Reality” is composed of bikers spilling liters of environmentally friendly and water-based paint in the path of moving traffic. Once spilled into the road, the various shades of color are spread into the street by the moving wheels of cars.
