^If HSR ever gets built, then the Bay Area will pretty much have every mode of rail-based transit imaginable:

- pully-based people mover (Oakland airport)
- rail-based people mover (SFO airtrain)
- cable car
- streetcar
- light rail
- light rail in a subway
- heavy rail metro
- commuter rail
- small-scale diesel regional rail (SMART)
- electrified, frequent regional rail (CalTrain)
- Frequent intercity rail
- Long-distance transcontinental passenger rail
- HSR

Am I missing anything? Is there a funicular somewhere? I guess the cable cars are kind of that, but built as a street-running network.

If we're using light rail to mean surface level, non-grade separated rail lines through urban street grids then it's a streetcar. I guess light rail can be a fully grade separated subway, but that's not what we use the terminology to describe. Either way, those are the same as rapid buses.

That was actually a joke I was making...lol. I do not think that Atl have actual ferries for transit, since there are no major water ways.

He was trying to make a homophobic joke that Atlanta has "fairies".

SF used to have one but its since been replaced by trolleybus since the 1940s.

Cable cars were used in a lot of places back in the day, but I'm almost certain the bay area is the only place with a currently operating system.

Orlando (Hogwarts Express @ Universal Studios), Las Vegas (Mandalay Bay, Aria, and Mirage trams), and Oakland (Bart to Oakland Airport) are modern day version Cable Car systems.

well, I was wrong! Did not know. Thanks for the info! Is there any particular reason a theme park / casinos chose Cable cars? Is it more cost efficient? Or was it just more for aesthetic reasons?

There's a car ferry in Newport Beach as well, and a funicular (Angels Flight) is a type of cable car.

There's also the Palm Springs aerial tramway and various ski lifts.
