Random, but I saw on social media that Ryan Serhant (the famous real estate broker from the show Million Dollar Listing on Bravo) will be at The Laurel next weekend for the unveiling of the upper floor units. It sounds silly, but his connections with the building team may lead to additional sales.

Well, we will see if he can make some calls to his NYC clients and get them interested in buying the PH.

I got a massive collection of shots yesterday. I noticed that it looks like they're painting the base of One Liberty Place's spire on the southwest side. I too am noticing 2 Liberty's lights off, hopefully they're restoring the lights on there as well. The skyline is beautiful, Arthaus outside and inside is tremendous, 1620 Sansom or "Simo" is having its first floors constructed, the progress in Market East is amazing, Cathedral Square looks fantastic, 2222 Market facade is closed up and looking sharp, 2301 JFK is noticeably underway, and 3025 JFK is flying to the sky. I'll have MANY photos coming later

EXCELLENT tease! Your verbal summary conveys almost as much about the amazing development going on all over Center City as your terrific photos do. Looking forward--as always--to seeing the photos!

One Cathedral Square by Philly SkyGuy, on Flickr
One Cathedral Square is somewhat basic, yet awesome at the same time. The plaza located to the west is open and it well done, also gives a great view of the Comcast towers, Three Logan, and depending where you're standing a sneak peek at One Liberty. Fantastic exterior work and interior work on tbe ground floor. Restaurant space is still fenced up and underway on the east side

New Lens or camera? These pictures are Great TK especially the night ones, I'm gonna start getting out there and capturing more night shots now that fall is here.

Also does IMGUR degrade pictures? your pics are very clear from FLICKR, I think im gonna change to Flickr because Imgur makes my pictures look like trash when they are crispy.

Same camera for the last 5 years, and same lense for the past 3 years. I had an automatic 300mm I was borrowing in 2019, which was stunning. My zoom lens is a 70-200mm manual lens that released in 1985.

And I'm not sure actually. I've seen people constantly uploading from Flickr in my early days of SSP, and listened to complaints about my images being too big. So I use Flickr as a host

Ok it seems Imgur does degrade photos, so that will not be used anymore, Flickr it is.

only downside of Flickr now is a free account has limited storage. they want you to upgrade to pro for a fee.

Yea I noticed that you get 1000 photos and then after you have to upgrade, however ill pay the price for better quality photo upgrades, and a better site then Imgur.

Quick nitpick for Philly.History: this photo has to be a bit older than 1950. Most of the trolley lines in the city were converted to bus operations around the mid-1950s, specifically 1956. I wouldn't expect to see so many cars parked on the Market Street tracks in 1950, unless there was an ongoing strike or some other cancellation of service. If I were to take a guess, I would say that this was taken between 1957 and 1960.

With that said, this is one of the saddest pictures illustrating Philly's history. It is symbolic of the rising dominance of the automobile over public transportation at the time. City leaders and the PTC gave up so much high-quality transit just to make way for additional cars to pack city streets, accelerating suburbanization at the expense of the city.

In retrospect, I truly believe the creation of the city hall traffic circle was just as damaging as the parkway and penn's landing when you factor in how many people use the city hall area. The Philadelphia Arcade Building could have been an icon. 1515 Market is such a turd.

Quick nitpick for you: 1957-1960 is not older than 1950, it is more recent.
