It's amazing really. So many will talk about how bad impervious cover is and in the same breath disparage height. Of course a square foot of impervious cover doesn't care whether it covers one home or ten homes (in a ten story building)... Our height limits make sense for Austin 1984 (when our land use code was written).

This intersection of Springdale and Airport is already a business corridor prepped to rapidly expand. Pair that with the fact the Green Line is likely going to have a stop directly adjacent to this building. It just makes sense to have taller buildings and higher occupancy in this area. With some residential setbacks which they look to have accounted for. Plus jaypaul.com already has Springdale Green listed on its site so they are very much wanting to make this happen. I live a few blocks away so very much interested in how this turns out.

I feel like this building looks almost identical to the recently built office at 2200 E 6th St. There is a rendering here from that building:

The warehouse on East 5th between Navasota and Attayac is coming down today. Anyone know what's planned for that block?

A 60' building. 110,419 SF Office. 10,604 SF Shopping. Looks like they were doing to do a restaurant too but it got cut.

Austin Water is fighting with the Bae Systems redevelopment project in Far East Austin about taking some of their land. There is an item on council agenda this week to allow them to Emminet Domain some of the property along FM 969 from Karlin.

Nice. I was waiting for this. I hang out in that part of town several times a week and it'll be nice to have more food/drink options.

Wow, that link lets you control the physical camera position. Are we supposed to have access to that...?
