Smile NEW YORK | 26-32 Jackson Avenue | 526 FT | 49 FLOORS

Pilings Underway For 49-Story Skyscraper At 26-32 Jackson Avenue In Long Island City, Queens

Quote:
Piling work is underway at 26-32 Jackson Avenue, the site of a 49-story residential skyscraper in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Albert Shirian of NY Lions Group, the 526-foot-tall structure will yield 384,043 square feet with 363 units averaging 1,003 square feet apiece, as well as 19,923 square feet of commercial space and a cellar level. Hunter Roberts Construction Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Dutch Kills Street and an elevated roadway of the Queensboro Bridge to the northeast, and Purves Street to the southwest.

Recent photos show piling machines prepping for the forthcoming foundation work. Much of the progress is obscured behind construction fencing.

The rendering for 26-32 Jackson Avenue in the main photo is oriented looking east and shows the tower rising uniformly from a tall multi-story podium. The exterior appears to be composed largely of glass panels with a thin grid of white mullions. A setback on the upper levels of the southwestern profile could potentially be topped with an outdoor terrace.

26-32 Jackson Avenue has an anticipated completion date of summer 2025.

This and the development across the street already have a thread, under the title Jackson East/West. They are both being built by Lions Group.

I think its just confusing that way, Jackson East/West as the addresses tend to be used a lot. I'll leave it up to NyGuy if he feels both the 49 floor and 25 floor towers should be in the same thread. They are not directly conjoined either, like a twin project but separate addresses on separate blocks.

Although for sake of tower updates, considering they are not small ones, I think using the addresses is easier. In my view.

NEW YORK | 26-32 Jackson Avenue | 526 FT | 49 FLOORS

AND

NEW YORK | 27-01 Jackson Avenue | 376 FT | 27 FLOORS

A good facade can change a boring tower, I like this one.

I too dig a tower….even a boxy one….that can generate geometric tromps d’oleil with few steps.

Height, of course, is a welcome plus.

The whole area is seeing a nice boom going on. With many developments breaking ground or soon to be. LIC, like DoBro, continue to be dynamic nodes. Will be exciting also with the nearby proxies in Astoria, and the whole Hallets Point/Hallet Point North soon to rise. A ton of spill over. Now we just have to get Sunnyside Yards to hurry up!

The first of the glass has gone up along Jackson. It's more green than its little sister tower across the street and closer to the shade of the Altice (formerly Citi) Tower.

Some pictures I took of towers u/c in LIC from Skillman Ave looking West.

"Italic" (AKA 26-32 Jackson) is the second from the left.
