For better or worse Hanover seems to go out of its way to blend into the neighborhood. The parking podium on this one pays homage to Lavaca Plaza across the street.

yep.... another reminder of why we don't need another one of their "award winning" designs downtown.

I mean, I don't hate that look. It sort of reminds me of 601 Lexington Avenue in New York. The top of this building bothers me more than the facade does. That location, that top, and 516 feet was a missed opportunity for a could-be-icon.

Yeah, the location is pretty prime and I am not a fan of the forgettable top either.

I do love that Austin is getting more and more penthouse/rooftop pools. It almost seems to be the norm now. Who knows, maybe when this cleans up and is fully open I'll appreciate its filler qualities.

You can walk by without noticing it's a parking podium. It blends in when you're not closely observing it. For that, it's pretty great and it's the sort of podium that more towers should have.

For me the top and white against the glass are the only things that make this somewhat interesting.

I give them high marks for all the above! This tower is very good infill. Not obtrusive, relates to its neighbors, hides its parking well, does have a crown of sorts (different from the tower section) and I am hopeful it will meet the street and pedestrians well. In general well done.

Now IF their 4th Street tower happens we can hope the same.

It doesn't resemble a typical parking garage, I'm good with it

I like all four of Hanover's downtown towers/proposals. They are better looking than most residential rental towers IMO albeit mostly a cut and paste of each other. I'm not going to hate on Hanover just because of the location of their proposed fourth tower. Another location would have been much better obviously, and the proposal should have been much more than a copy/paste.

In case anyone is wondering about four towers - Northshore is a Hanover property.

Hanover Republic Crown?

They started installing the cladding around the top of the mechanical area on the roof. I'm not sure what I was hoping for, but ...

From my vantage I like the pool/amenity area. I wasn't sure what they would do on top. Maybe I should hold my comments till it's done

The crown on this thing looks like the bridge of a ship. The window washer is the life boat.
