I really thought your comment would be in reference to "Love Park" since we've discussed public realm stuff in the past.

I guess it caught your eye though.
I was going to comment on it previously, but your posts are long and full of images (don't get me wrong - I love them), it takes some effort to edit a reply to that one project or quote the entire post. Since that post just contained the one project, it was more convenient to quote it. Sometimes a reply without images is a lot harder to understand the context if it gets buried between longer posts. If you want more replies, you might try limiting individual posts to a single or maybe just a few projects. More posts per day, but it might take less time to compose them.

From Urban Toronto member skycandy, the first smokey glass glazing going up on the left, just as promised by the cladding mock-up seen a long time back. Look forward to seeing the ‘champagne’ cladding on the super-columns

630 The East Mall | 80.03m | 25s | 630 The East Mall Inc | Studio JCI l pre-construction

Nothing spectacular here but one thing stands out: projects designed by Studio JCI are almost always executed to near perfection when built… even though they are not the ones holding the purse-strings. A curious phenomenon but given their superb design chops on most projects, a happy one.

East Mall is pretty much a waste-land so this is a good start. Replaces a 2 storey industrial building and vacant lot. Located a mile or so from the Hwy 427 and Hwy 401 interchange in Etobicoke.

Ontario Place | ?m | ?s | Province of Ontario | Therme Group & Live Nation l pre-construction

Vienna based Therme Group has responded to criticisms regarding public space around it its waterpark and spa proposal by submitting new plans that now include about 12 acres of publicly accessible pathways and gardens,
a pier and a 200-metre long beach. The planned multi-use six metres wide path, which would connect to the city’s waterfront trail, now has expanded public space around it.

Therme Group revised proposal with more public space:

Live Nation’s complete all-season revamp for the existing Budweiser Stage concert venue remains part of the proposed Ontario Place make-over. With its retractable walls, the new venue would host up to 20,000 during the outdoor season (with the walls open), approximately 9,000 seats will be available inside during winter months.

East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson l Demolition Permit (Phase 1 office tower)

Somewhat suprisingly, Cadillac Fairview has just filed for a demolition permit (multiple buildings on site including the “Soap Factory”) for a “non-residential” building.

The downtown office vacancy rate is estimated around 10% (lower for AAA office space) and no anchor tenant information so far, but wondering if Cadillac Fairview is moving forward “on spec” given the long lead times from demo to construction (years of possible commercial demand recovery?).

There’s also a major transit hub planned here for GO Transit and the new Ontario Line Subway.

Below, the first office tower (site plan submitted) is called “1B” designed by KPF Architects, @ 44-storeys and 217.95 metres tall with a brass-coloured exoskeleton.

UT

The entire East Harbour masterplan consists of 15 office and residential towers @ 23 to 65 storeys.

After a long two year snooze @ 36 storeys (with ownership changes), this one is back in rezoning action at a whopping 60 storeys and just shy of 200 metres (199.4m). Just below the Sick Kids Hospital flight path rules, this has 618 residential units proposed (which last I heard were to be rental).
