I dunno, I should probably get over it but this WaWa abandonment really bugs me for some reason.

Wawa is just using the crime as an excuse. The reality is that these stores cost a lot to keep open in Center City and with less office workers in the city they were not making enough profit to justify keeping them open. it's easier to blame the crime than say we failed because we oversaturated the market and now our stores are losing money.
Wawa is pretty cut throat. Drive around the suburbs and see where they opened them with gas pumps and you will find the remains of other gas stations they drove out of business because that is what they aim to do...move in...drive out the Branded Stations and get all the business. I have driven past Unbranded stations in Chester County that sit across from Wawa's in Frazer and Thorndale that sell their gas for less than the Wawa and the pumps at the Wawa are full and they may have a car or two at the unbranded station. People think Wawa has cheaper gas. They don't. At least not in their home market...they don't have to sell if for less...people are just programmed to buy their gas there and go in for food.
