What's with the horse drawn vehicles in the photo? They all look to be of similar design. Are they commercial delivery wagons?
There's no windows in the back but also no commercial logos printed on the side.

I was looking for an office window or two that said "Huntington Land Company," which is where Mom worked in 1936 and which I imagine was located in that building from the time it opened, but no luck. Maybe it was on one of those top two floors that were so high above the street that signs in the windows would be pointless.

'Photograph of an eastward looking aerial view of Victoria Park Drive and Victoria Park Place, between Pico Boulevard and 16th Street, 1918. At the center of the picture is a traffic roundabout encircling an oval shaped island with several houses on it. Three streets lead off of this roundabout. Sixteenth Street (Venice Boulevard) runs from the bottom of the picture to the top on the right side. This is a residential neighborhood, and the houses are spaced fairly far apart. The only plants aside from the well groomed lawns are trees planted on the edge of all of the streets.'

I agree, that photograph of the Pacific Electric Building is amazing. Hidden from view is its elaborate roof garden.

Shown below is a postcard from 1909 (the Jonathan Club was headquartered in the top three floor of the P.E. Building from 1905 to 1924).

Wow!
I first look at that photo thinking the guy was holding some sort of auto part with grease can but also thinking to myself it looked a lot like a large barreled opium pipe. Way bigger than most...almost doubtful (I've been around)..but found during the demolition of the Lugo House?
I'm trying to catch my breath. The last time the Chinese-Americans used it to my knowledge was to hold prayer vigils in the hope that the city would vote to preserve the building. The vote finally came down as a "nay" and the wrecking crews soon came forth with their hammers and pry-bars.

While trying to find out more information on the Inglewood Mansion that I posted above,
I came across this fine home for A.C. Freeman in Los Angeles (no exact address given).
