A mix of Sony and mobile captures from the past 10 days - mostly around Pine Avenue, the McTavish reservoir, and Cote-Ste-Catherine in Outremont

These are a few images from my little walk three days ago. I haven't done any serious "photography walk" in a few years, so I apoligize if these aren't up to snuff.

This area could pass as Avenue Road, and visa versa.

GeneralLee - nice shots, you’ve jumped right back into form with those I’d say! I like the mood of this one:

Out by Draulerin Photographics, on Flickr

Wonderful pics on this page, from Halifax, Toronto and Montreal, but those Daviddavid Quebec suburb pics, oh my! Gorgeous! And that massive skating rink - I hate cold weather, but I’d love to out skating there. It’s one piece of Canadiana that we don’t have in Victoria, the playing hockey outside - well we have street hockey, that’s it. Although some years if we get a prolonged cold snap we might get a handful full of days of skating at a former farm, now parkland called Panama Flats. Basically we need a bit of flooding to cover the field then the cold snap. Then you just need to avoid the grass and branches poking through.

Panama flats in early summer:

Typical in January:

And when it freezes a miracle happens! Source

It doesn’t always have to be about Toronto you know.

Thanks zoomer! I've been more focused on oil painting and drawing since the pandemic came around, so it's nice to get out and try some photography downtown after over two years.

I agree with you here, there's some really beautiful imagery on this and the preceding page! That set of NB restuarants is amazing, it shows the architectural heft of the city, and many interesting, comfortable looking spaces to go to.

I really love those Lac Beauport images, it looks like something out of a dream.

An early appointment in Fairview got me this gem of a view. Isn't it hard to believe that some Vancouver forumers want the views of the North Shore mountains obliterated in favour of the yet more largely forgettable tall buildings?

There are plenty of places with high elevation (such as Queen Elizabeth Park lookout, Fairview Slopes, Arbutus Ridge etc) where the view of the mountains wouldnt be blocked even if downtown had a dozen more 200 meter towers and maybe even a couple supertalls.
