Isn't colder weather with above-average precipitation a characteristic of La Niña in BC?

La Niña actually means it's colder so the potential for snow is greater, El Niño is warmer. Although I've heard stories of heavy snow in the 60s and so on, it seems to me that the climate is changing towards more extremes, which means more snow, and Vancouver-the-City is not paying enough attention.

We have more snow than normal in the city, yes, but the snowpack on the mountains is nothing out of ordinary, perhaps a little less than normal. Heavy rains starting this weekend will change the snow situation significantly. I wish it would start raining a day or two later for us to have a beautiful Christmas, but I guess not.

Ok I screwed that up. I meant El Niño. I heard warmer winter.

Looks like tomorrow is going to be another transit chaos day.

starting snowing around 10 pm in Langley, slightly later in surrey and when I crossed over the Port Mann back to Coquitlam it was snowing but much lighter than the Surrey side.

Will use transit tomorrow, unsure of the freezing rain situation, sounds like it will mainly affect the Fraser Valley but I don't want to get stuck in traffic so being stuck on a train will be better.
