This is observable in the real world everywhere:

To be fair, they're probably mostly right wing. The rarity would be the progressive promotion! lol But Jenny appeared for the one that was featured on Rebel news awhile back for some covid violations and employs former kick-fm talk show host and online journalist (Im not making a criticism, just pointing it out).

Oh, yeah. We look like a proper city when you have folks from Hollywood come up here for a shoot and then later go on talk shows relaying anecdotes about the time they tried to get from the Fairmont to some nearby restaurant or store only to crawl over those fkn concrete bunkers and play Frogger against the traffic! Hell, a former CEO at my previous employer did that mid-day coming to our offices at 201 Portage because why the hell would you expect them to walk all over the place like some IRL version of one of the Family Circus cartoons where the kid walks all over the place?

Made in Manitoba Solution (tm) indeed!

I used to have an office overlooking the Portage and Main intersection and I was always amazed by how often people jumped the barricades and crossed the street there anyway.

This makes absolutely no sense. They would not go anywhere and could still comment if the Winnipeg thread was separate. There is no good reason why it is not a dedicated thread. You need to spend more that 2 cents.

The villains for the right wing wrestlers are Wokeman, Protective Maskman, and Vaxman.

Reminds me of a NPR article I read a few years back:

Appalachian Wrestling's Greatest Villain: 'The Progressive Liberal'

OK, now back to your regularly scheduled programming

Is Manitoba the Canadian version of the Appalachians?

Do you ever feel like they should have filmed an episode of the reality series "Cops" here in Winnipeg?

Wow, sounds like the perfect fit for Winnipeg, I can see why the majority of posters in the Winnipeg threads are so enamoured with him!

And who doesn’t love a quitter!?

In fairness, he didn't willingly quit, he was forced out

But man, what a hatchet job.

I'm still voting for him though, he's the one I want in charge based on his previous track record as mayor.

The little guy Kives never fails to surprise, really can’t say anyone in the field stands out in any meaningful way, kinda sad when “yesterday’s” man, quitter Murray seems like the best candidate!

I'm hoping his time as the transport minister of Ontario gets him to push hard for proper transit, I forget what his actual infrastructure plan was though.

My thoughts exactly. I'm not sure I understand CBC's agenda, unless it's nothing more than grasping for click-bait with scandalous headlines. First they parrot unfounded gossip about an alleged "outrage" over the city losing an Amazon facility that never was, now this re-hashing of past allegations.

I'm not surprised about these allegations regarding Murray. He is a guy with an ego who has held a lot of powerful positions. It's a bit unfortunate, because I think he does great work.

I guess at the end of the day I'm like a client of Don Draper's in Mad Men. Do I say no to him because of his personal flaws, even though he does great work and will no doubt do great work for my company? At the end of the day I know Murray can get it done, that is my main concern here.

And hey, for all his faults at least Murray won't steal from the City. Ha.

I'm fairly certain that Gillingham's campaign is the source for all the dirt on Murray.

Don't know much I trust him considering that Gillingham's campaign machine is the same one that brought us Sam Katz.
