^^ On second thought, you’re probably right. The street level renderings have the entire building extending the entire block. I guess they just needed to make the building image bigger in the aerial lol.

I came on here to say the same thing. D'Angelo Bros has mobilized and Cook is on site drilling for caissons.

The height cut shown on the new renderings looks like much was not cut from the top. It honestly looks like it's 400 feet or just shy of that height to me

^ It looks more bronze in the new iteration. Hopefully that looks good in actuality.

I think it will be the same woody material, and the difference in look just comes down to render post processing effects like less gloss/shine. This render has a lot flatter colors but I think they just put less time into prettying it up since it was already approved and just altered.

I'm honestly fine with the height cut. With the 445 foot figure, it was going to greatly block City Hall from my infamous NJ spot. Now the clock tower will show more with the height cut...and that height in that area is still impressive to me. It gonna be crazy seeing four cranes within a three block radius in one neighborhood of the city (four if Jefferson cranes are still up by the time a crane is erected for this project

My main beef is that they took a cool design and turned it into an uninspiring glass box. That the design change also resulted in a height reduction is just salt in the wound. I'm getting tired of saying, "I guess it's better than what's there now."

I actually think that the newest iteration looks better than the old one

Maybe I'm just tired of massive mechanical floors dominating the tops of buildings.

I was never a huge fan of the building, now even less so.
So they reduced the height from 445 feet to 366 feet, but kept the number of stores at 32. so the average floor to floor height reduced from 13.9 feet to 11.4 feet. Did they change the structural system from steel to concrete?

They reduced the height of the mechanical floor and removed the huge decorative fins - I'm assuming that this accounts for the entirety of the height change but I could be wrong.

Here's the Philadelphia Business Journal's coverage, behind paywall. Nothing too earth shattering in terms of new information:

^ There is also mention of their planned project at 9th & Washington expected to start later this year.

"The New York real estate company expects to move forward sometime later this year with the development of an $80 million apartment building at the corner of 9th Street and Washington Avenue in South Philadelphia. Midwood has been working on that project for seven years, tweaking several times after facing complaints from neighbors about its size and scope. It will have 164 units, 15,500 square feet of retail space and 125 parking spaces."
