Chicago was home to a massive elevated walkway dubbed the “pedestrian highway.†It connected buildings just west of the downtown loop -- at the East Campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago -- and created a multilevel network of human activity. It was designed by Walter Netsch, the architect of the Air Force Academy Campus and famous chapel in Colorado Springs. The walkway was giganitc and monumental. It was even featured in the horror film Candyman from the early 1990s. But, over time, the walkway fell into disrepair and the decision was made to demolish this piece of iconic urban infrastructure. This video explores the history of the pedestrian highway. And, using a full 3D model reconstruction, embarks on a realtime walkthrough to explore what it would have been like to experience in person.

Admittedly, this is during last year's Covid-19 restrictions, so the usual tourist crowds are much reduced, but that just makes it easier to appreciate the pathways here.

Extremely rare, spectacular film about London during WW-II in color [A.I. enhanced & colorized]

Video Link

Quote:
London during WW-II like you have never seen it before! This film footage is very rare. It is of extremely high quality in full HD, 1080p. The source is raw footage for an unknown film about London with the working title "Heart of the City". Now press the ´SHOW MORE´ button below please:

The various scenes have been motion-stabilized, slightly speed-corrected, enhanced and colorized by means of sophisticated Artificial Intelligence software.

The film shows remarkable scenes of bomb damage, close up filming of the release of barrage balloons, anti-aircraft gun positions, traffic at Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, militairy parades in front of Buckingham Palace, beautiful scenes of the Thames during daytime and at dusk, Waterloo Station, and much more.

Quebec City Limoilou's neighborhood from above. The most «montrealesque» quarter of Quebec City. The video allows you to see the city from a different point of view (no Old Quebec). Enjoy.
