Don't love that we're dealing with a facadectomy for the corner building though. You'd think if they got to demolish 704 completely there would be a way to do this and keep the corner building more intact.
It's not a facadectomy, it's an overbuild like the Beacon.

If you think that's photographer paradise, you should go th the South Street Garage, the Amtrak garage next to Cira Center, and my favorite the parking garage at the Live! Casino and Hotel. All are accessible to the public

Now that's some other spots ill keep noted.

Now the top spots I think are best to take photos are the South St Bridge, Spring Garden Bridge and the Building with the tv screen on the outside by the FMC building.

I'm just going by the quote from naked philly which states:

" It appears that 700-02 Chestnut St. will see its interior demoed, leaving its exterior facade in place, so we at least understand how that demo is being allowed."

That sounds like a facadectomy, but I'll admit it's not clear. Is the actual permit more clear?

The plans made it look like an overbuild, but now I’m not so sure given your post.

Next to the South Street Bridge view, I actually think Bok Bar has the best vista of the skyline - it's close enough so you feel apart of it, but far enough away where you can take in it's scope east to west. Plus, you can enjoy an adult beverage and not look like a creep-o with a camera on the roof of a shady parking garage next door to a casino.

despite my natural affinity for looking like a creep-o, i have to echo this as loud as possible. this was my last restaurant stop pre-pandemic and it's quite impressive how they've expanded since then.

kudos to lindsey scannapieco for taking a blank slate and turning into a legit south philly cultural institution.

also, that view freaking rules

You better watch your windows, this lense has a powerful zoom

But for real, going to that garage is worth it for this view and photograph

As much as I love the PECO building, I'd trade it for that. That thing is sick.

Totally unrealistic though.

But it WOULD be a perfect landmark ("Beacon") for Cellicon Valley. Of course, for those who skipped Biology class, that design is a reference to the double helix of a DNA molecule.

100% agreed! I know this isn't a serious proposal, but for the reason you mentioned, I wouldn't mind this building rising at the site of Brandywine's 3151 Market proposal.

Move this building one block east on Market Street or west of 30th Street on JFK and it would work great.
