There’s only a rendering of the plaza, a loophole possibly because they don’t have the full building construction permit. One holdout for that was the approval of the plaza itself, which happened last month. It won’t be long though before cranes are on sight, and we are watching this tower rise.

Absolutely massive.

What are the parameters of this base in comparison to 1WTC, 1 Vanderbilt, etc?

It’s a little hard to compare because of the nature of this base, but Vanderbilt covers a full 43,000 sf block, and this one covers a full 80,000 sf block. The base of the Freedom tower is not that much different from Vanderbilt.

383 Madison and Vanderbilt have the same sized base.

Yes, and both towers will be very distinctive at the base.

WHOA!!! This rendering really shows the sheer massiveness coming. This building is like 3.5 Bear Stearns buildings in 1. It’s No wonder JP Morgan Chase can consolidate all their HQ operations into one building.

The setbacks are more symetrical now, but otherwise pretty much the same building.

I'm legit furious that damn covid is making me miss all of this, that I can't come see it in person. So much amazing stuff going on in NYC, and I'm stuck up here.

Looks like the highest crane reaches above 1,600 ft.

Maybe Jaime D doesn't want to be upstaged by 175 Park.

^ The highest 175 Park crane will likely reach above 1,800 ft.

I'm glad they are sticking with the taper (when viewed from the side)

Is it officially 1388' now or is 1425' still on the table?

I believe it's 1,388 ft, but we'll see. I would actually just like to see a rendering. Shame on JPMC for not providing one. A significantly sized building was demolished, we should at least know what's replacing it by now.

Someone on Yimby, who seems to work in the industry and be involved with this building, suggests that the height is around 1,450'.
