Kinda selfish thinking but I wish this one could’ve been built to 1,000 ft lol. I’m sad to see it almost topped out. It’ll be awhile before we get another skyscraper over 800 ft under construction,

I've always been a fan of the more layered skylines, with taller behind shorter, having 1000' right on the part kind of removes the possibility for that layering and depth to the skyline. Being isolated to 1 site where nearby buildings aren't going to be demolished any time soon helps, but still. I'd rather see this a 5-600 footer with a 1000 footer behind it years later than just have a 1000 footer here where you can't see anything behind it. I'm more than happy with the height on this one where it is.

It may be a while before we see another start construction, but we'll surely here about the planning stages of some in the not too distant future, and that's almost as exciting. Now is the time to start developing big plans to get a project ready to pounce and capitalize on getting to market as soon as possible after conditions improve.

I flew out of Midway this afternoon, sadly the plane turned east earlier than I would have preferred, and the airplane window was gunky as hell.

Nah. Just has a big presence because of the cantilever and expanding floor plate. I took some pictures from my boss' sailboat and you can detect the slight growth of the floor plates even from the skyline view. It's a little weird since most buildings do the opposite. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how the top of it is resolved.

Crane jumped today! Kind of surprised. I assumed the core was topped off. Any idea how many more core floors need to be poured? Feels like were in the bonus, presence wise.

That’s what I’m saying, looks like this thing has gotten a lil taller than expected

From what I can tell, all of the residential floors are more or less finished maybe there's one or two left. The crane jump is mostly to finish off the parapet around the mechanicals on the top of the building. I could be wrong, but the illusion of height is due to how massive the top of this structure is especially compared to NEMA. My guess is that it's still on track to be 805ft tall. For comparison, the architectural height of 1000M will be about 10' higher than the highest occupied floor in NEMA. You can see it's almost there in this video from this past week. Skip to 4:16 to get a good view.
