I guess it's no different than having a parking deck under the building but that doesn't strike me as super duper secure in this day and age

That'd have to be a very large explosion to do anything crazy damaging to the structure. It took an airplane to bring down the WTC towers...

^^^^ Three cranes within a football fields length of connecting lots would be pretty baller to see. especially driving south down LSD over the river.

I would assume there will be entrance and exits to the Vista parking levels on the middle level (similar to the Aqua garage and Swiss/303 E. Wacker garage) but not sure if I have seen any details on that.

Wait, that huge building is supported only by those columns underneath? That doesnt seem right. That render must not be correct, wheres the core?

This render depicts the center tower, which is 'suspended' between the West and East towers - it's roughly where the main tower crane is. The core depicted in the recent photos is the Western tower.

I had assumed that also. At least a couple of the buildings on Randolph east of Columbus have parking garage entrances/exits on Middle Randolph, even though that part of Middle Randolph is essentially just an onramp/offramp to Lake Shore Drive, so I don't imagine that would stop them. But if you go through the presentations they gave on Vista, months ago now, they discuss entrances to the parking garage on at the top level and a 'public' garage entrance/exit at Sub Lower Wacker (along with two loading docks at that level), but they conspicuously fail to mention any entrances at the middle level. My guess is that they'll still have entrances/exits at that level, though perhaps they'll discourage or prevent use. My building has an entrance/exit at the lower level, for example, but they only allow people to use it when they close the upper entrance and exit -- which they've done at the moment, because someone drove into the entrance door yet again.

Not all the buildings over there have access from that level. Neither the Regatta or Chandler have access from lower Wacker. I can't recall if there's ingress/egress from parking for Vista on this level.

^Yes they do. . . I know for a fact that the Chandler has lower wacker access and am almost certain that Regatta does as well. . . unless you're referring to the "mid" Wacker level. . .
