not related to this conversation but the issue is all those SUV's used to be cars....today the baseline car is not a car, its an SUV.....Since the 90's average vehicle weight has increased 26%.....average vehicle size has increased 20%....80% of vehicles purchased today are SUV's or trucks...it was 30% in the 90's.

even what cars are left are bigger...a toyota camry is a foot longer and 600 lbs heavier than it was 20 years ago.

Who is shitting on SUV owners? They are big vehicles, that's just facts. The Highlander is a fairly big. And even smaller ones like the RAV4 are a bigger than they were 10-12 years ago. Manitoba is a bit behind in making parking lots reflect that, spaces are cramped as though people were all still driving Chevettes and K-Cars. Contrast with our neighbours across the border where parking lot stalls tend to be much more generously sized.

SUV sit higher than cars and we have a aging population. almost 50 y/o here and getting in out of my buddy Camry is way harder than get in out of my Kia Sorrento or my Dad Rav 4. those are facts, period.

and all those cars are WAYYYYY smaller than my 59 Cadillac 4 door or 79 Chev Impala that I had many moons ago. back then, cars were way longer but lower.

anyway, way off topic for 300 Main building

the last thing we need to do is start sucking up more land for parking because people like driving tanks.

we didn't have old people in the 90's?...every single one of my friends drives a pick up truck...99% of the time it is to drive their kid's to hockey or to go to the grocery store.

I also saw the white strips all lit up last night and they look awesome. The building is very dark, so it looks like a futuristic villain's lair. I assume as more units are lit up, that will change a bit.

I noticed the hat (or whatever you want to call it) was lit last night as well. It would be nice to see if it changes colour.
