^It looks to be at the site of TNS. I think that's the Delta and city place surrounding it in the renders.

trueviking, your Wawanesa proposal is beautiful. I would've preferred that location to TNS. Broadway and Main is such a high-profile location and it would've been quite imposing on that corner.

Also I really wish we got that cantilevered hotel/condo at P&M....it's just the type of thing I'd like to see there. It would've been such a nice variety of design with the other P&M towers.

He also had this proposal for the other MPI lot on Donald and St Mary's Ave. Too bad they only awarded the Carlton/Hargrave site to Architecture49 and not this site to Verne. I think this would be perfect for that strip and wish more lots downtown had this type of filler.

It is interesting to see how many of the proposals for SoPo Square, err, True North Square, called for way less density than what ultimately materialized. The project really just seemed to grow and grow as things went on.

It's too bad that Confusion Corner tower didn't proceed but in some ways it seemed almost too good to be true. It looks very central European, it's easy to imagine a tower like that being built on a suburban tram line somewhere in Germany or Poland.

It's cool to see that the Richardsons have clearly been exploring a range of options for developing their land along Portage E. and Lombard. One big new project could get the ball rolling on more activity in that part of downtown.

City Square downtown - I think this was one of the very first significant development proposals for Winnipeg (at least that I can recall) which got this forum buzzing.



Riverboat Landing - near the Redwood Bridge or whatever the hell they call it now



Terrazzo - unbuilt project next to Cafe 22 on Corydon



Park Place - on Portage near Sargent Sundae

That one, or the SoPo TNS proposal, would look very nice at Donald and St. Mary.

It looks like an early concept for Portage Place. The Bay Building on the right, a promenade where Portage Ave is, then the mall, a realigned Portage north of that, and then what I'm assuming is a residential building where the IG building is today.

This picture that was posted after shows the while site plan. Portage Place was originally planned to be far more substantial than what we got in the end.

I appreciate the ambition with those early Portage Place concepts, but I think we dodged a major bullet by not realigning Portage Avenue as shown in those renderings.
