Balcony glass starting to go up at Market Wharf, another aA/Clewes design. The balconies, though obviously static, create a real sense of movement. An instant classic:

Wow, I love it.

The balconies really tie it all together.

I'm seriously considering snagging one of these units when they hit the resale market.

Here's a cool timelapse video showing the raising of the skybridge at CityPlace:

Pretty cool seeing the entire neighbourhood light up as it gets dark.

Very cool. Cityplace is starting to come together much better from a built standpoint, it still lacks the neighbourhood feeling though. I wonder if a retail/street level culture will ever catch on there.

I'm really looking forward to that, it should be a very solid development.

Construction crane is going up as I type for Backstage Condos. This is right across the street from L Tower.

I went past there yesterday and was wondering when we'd see any above ground activity at Backstage. Good to hear the crane is there.
My son on the other hand wants them to fill the hole with water and have a giant swimming pool for monster trucks...

According to the crane operator at L Tower, the hole for Backstage is one of the deepest tower foundations he's ever seen. Backstage will house parking for L Tower and there will be an underground tunnel connecting the two buildings.

Nice to see backstage moving along. I'm anxious to see what it looks like when the glazing goes up.

I'm not particularly excited by the design of Backstage (though it has potential, depending on how it's executed), I'm looking forward to more retail on the Esplanade. Hopefully there'll be some patio space.

U Condos update from greenleaf at Urban Toronto:

Now that the parking levels are complete, these towers should start to fly. The "podium" essentially consists of townhouses and they've got a huge staging area here.
