London car dealer Ryan Finch has a purchased Redtail Golf and Country Club. I'm in the market for a new car, might have to negotiate a round or 2 being thrown in lol.

Remember Brian Finch's TV/Radio ads? "Hello London, I'm Bald Brian Finch! ..."

My son will always be able to say "Hey Sharpie, remember when you were 8 and I was 9 and we won the London Minor Football tyke division championship in 2011?". Been fun watching this kid grow up and advance.

Kadri to bring Stanley Cup to London

Quote:
A parade will depart at noon that day from the London Muslim Mosque. It will make its way east along Oxford St., then turn south on Richmond, and finish at Victoria Park. Fans can line the parade route, take in the celebrations, and offer their congratulations

"Nazem will speak, he’ll be there with the cup so people can see it. People are encouraged to come out there and have a look and see the Stanley Cup first hand."

Options being discussed on the future of Thames Pool.

https://lfpress.com/news/local-news/...city-staff-say

They may want to consider this as an opening to explore the option of rebuilding Farquharson Arena and adding an indoor pool to a re-imagined community recreation centre. The current 2 pad site is long over due for a rethink and new vision for the future.

Any money spent on Thames Pool is wasted at this point. They are talking a couple million for repairs that might not even work. And well over 10 million to replace it. I get the love for the place, it's been there forever, I swam there a few a times as kid myself. It's open for a couple months a year, not nearly enough time to justify large dollars.

Time for an indoor pool. It might not be in the best spot like so many say Thames is but really, Thames is only in a good spot for the people who live within blocks of it. Who's to say those people should be guaranteed a continued good spot in the future?. Maybe it's time for the other end of old south to have a good location for a change. I've suggested Farquharson Arena before and have also seen recent suggestions of Murray Park, which is at the end of a street on the west side of Wharncliffe (which would piss off a lot of old south people too).

Committee votes to decommission Thames Pool.

They should definitely look at adding pickle ball and tennis courts and a splash pad to Thames park instead. Saw that St Thomas is partnering with a private company to put a dome over the tennis and pickle ball courts so they can be used during the winter. Good for them.

Hopefully full council agrees with committee and staff can start working on a plan for a new indoor recreation centre with a pool and other amenities that is year round usable in Old South. Farquharson Arena redesign/rebuild should be an option.

Sad, I loved going to this place and servicing it. I wonder what the plans are for the building. If I had the money, I would buy it and transform it into a multi-sports facility, restoring the original ice rink, adding a basketball court, soccer pitch, & newer Velodrome. I think the building has lots and lots of potential, it just needs some TLC. Roof leaks like a mother when it rains, which is the main issue. Fix that, gut the place, it's good to go. It's a concrete shell which can be reused many more times.

I'm just annoyed they spent millions of dollars on this pool in 2010. Should've just closed it then and built new. Now we are basically out millions, I doubt those repairs were paid off by the pools admissions between 2010 and its closing.

As for a new pool location, Maybe they could take the Old Childrens Museum lands after they move? The two parks they mentioned I feel are far too small and already established enough. They could gut the old museum and put a pool inside, or demolish the building and build brand new.

Sadly the "Landlord" owns the old childrens museum property so it has no future until he agrees to sell it.
