The Foundation permits have been issued for this project. The initial demolition permits have also been applied for, and the grading plans are approved. Looking good for this to start in the beginning of 2023.

Per the Nashville Post, Tony Giarratana has closed on the purchase of the property he needs to construct the tower. We've also had reports that the YMCA has closed the portion of the facility that will be demolished to make way for their new facility and Tony's tower. Looking like this is still on track for an early 2023 start.

Per UP, construction barriers are up, and heavy equipment is on site. It looks like demolition of the old YMCA is set to begin soon.

A shell permit worth $89 million was issued for this project today. I'd say this can be moved into the Under Construction section now, no?

Once foundation work takes place, then it can be moved over.

I'm also shocked at the lack of overall Nashville development posting here.

Per the blasting permit that was recently issued, they are to begin blasting sometime in March.

That's great news...and the blasting too.

But, $89 million for the shell? Seems low compared to other buildings of this magnitude.

I've heard this job has gone out for rebid.

Also, what is this UP you all speak of? I'm new to the forum.

It should be easy enough to find out if it has as either myself or co-worker will reach out to Tony.

I never bother him unless it is something major, but I do have his number and email.

Always like to put rumors to rest if they are false but confirm if true. I do know that finish out permits were issued all the way through floor 40 and if they are rebidding it may be some subcontractor. The main contractor is building two other buildings for Giarratana right next door and across the street, not to mention the YMCA connected to this building.

Confirmed with Giarratana that Brasfield & Gorrie has the contract now, although not sure when they plan on going vertical.

Yep! An interesting fact about this picture is that the developer of this tower built 5 of the 7 buildings in this shot.
