I think they would look better if the small uppermost boxes were just eliminated.

Than the Aussies got into the game with Melbourne and Sydney booming in 150 metre construction and Toronto sitting on 10 built and one under construction.
Yes, now the unbelievable Toronto has zoomed by Chicago in 200 meters (built and u/c) was bound to happen, just didn't think it would happen so fast.

Now we need more 300 meter plus towers, and 400 meter towers would be nice. Chicago has a good layout for its skyline against the lake. Toronto's follows Yonge Street, so not as dramatic in any shape or form, at least not yet.

Edit: The Database is showing Toronto at 125 towers over 500 feet built and U/C, does that sound right?

The skyline has really grown by leaps and bounds in the last twenty years. It's mindblowing to me that we'll have 200 metre buildings from Eglinton to the lake, along Yonge. (Canada Square just needs to start, or one of the other proposals in the area that can break 200 metres)
Not to mention those two supertalls nearly two miles apart.

Forum contributor Benito (who has posted thousands of progress shots) will soon lose his view of work on the top of the tower.

It's crazy that it's reached this height now. It seemed way back that Benito would be staring down at the construction for much longer.

Sky tower just poured it's first floor of the tower but I think at this point The One is beyond catching. The crew at the One seem to be in a groove now.

Its a beautiful powerful looking building with a presence, like a classic building in chicago or new york but with a modern twist, not everything has to be a skinny building, theres plenty of that already.

It's one of the 'big banks', what else did you expect?

I really like this tower, even if it looks very wide in some angles. It's a distinctive bank building, something to help define an area of the city that can use more notable architecture.

To each his own, but I find it unsightly, quality finishes notwithstanding.

It's like one of those fat weirdos from the City of London and that's... not entirely an insult, either.

Yeah, kinda. Similar sort of vibe.

Doesn’t need to be skinny - just better proportioned to avoid the bloated mid section.
Agree that the glazing and detailing look superb.

How tall it The One on Bloor going to be. I see it's listed as 308 but I thought they were appealing for 338 so all large chunks of the building will be the same size.

This image I took a few hours ago highlights at least two towers on this list. Concord's Canada House, (232M) complex is UC on the left, seen with two cranes above the SkyDome, and on the right, you can see 160 Front (240M) with it's distinctive roof. The rest of these images were taken earlier yesterday.
