Application came in, increasing the building to 12 floors instead of 10. It will be fairly big for the area.

A new 10-story public safety headquarters could bring Jersey City’s police and fire departments, 911 operations and parking enforcement offices under one roof on Martin Luther King Drive.

The City Council will vote Wednesday on an ordinance authorizing the construction of a 120,000-square-foot building at the corner of MLK Drive and Kearny Avenue.

Under the terms of the plan, the Pennsylvania-based real estate investment firm Brandywine would build the complex and then lease it back to the city for either 25 or 30 years. At the end of the lease, the city would purchase the property for $1.
