Question for the forum

Did the apartment tower where Einstein's and Joe's used to be break ground already? I seem to recall someone mentioning that demo had started but not sure if there was any movement on the project outside of prepping the site.

Demo hasn't started yet. Hopefully by summer.

50 Ivan looks very similar by the same architecture firm: https://www.dudapaine.com/portfolio_...ty-ivan-allen/
Great to possibly be getting an 800 footer in Downtown, but I detest copy/past jobs by these architects. It's lazy and disrespectful to our cities.

At least it's a copy/paste job that works. Packard Chilton sure has classy designs and will take more of their designs of the like any day! IMO; 1180 Peachtree is a stellar project that revitalized the city and was a game changer. Personally love all the open/public spaces in this new proposal as well! Although the original 50 Allan Plaza was good, the decade and a half wait to get this built has been worth it. The redesign will seem to really pay off!

Neat graphic from Midtown Alliance showing all developments in Midtown Atlanta in the past 25 years, plus proposed and under construction projects.

Looks like a few omissions:
1. Colony Square
2. The Mark
3. Hotel next to Fox
4. 131 Ponce
5. Skyhouse Midtown
6. Cotting Court
7. TBS/Turner campus buildings, GPB building

Cross-posting. Finally seems the quality of design is being elevated in Atlanta, at least on some projects. New City’s Fourth Ward & Star Metals helping lead the charge:

I'm a little lost on the location of this... A few of the renderings seem to suggest it's not on Howell Mill next to La Fonda like I thought.

It's not. This is on 11th St, across from Six Feet Under.

You may be thinking of the hotel/residences portion of Star Metals which will be on Howell Mill:

Might not be very tall, but stunning nonetheless.
