You can see in this Google Street View that I just took a screenshot of some of the concrete deterioration. There also seems to be a crack in the concrete that bridges a section of the building. Or it could just be a joint......I am not an engineer or an architect. Just an observation.

I will keep this in mind next time I walk past Marina city and it's never ending concrete work.

Awful. I passed that building every day for 10 years on my way to work when I lived in Miami. Was even in at once in the late 90s. A close friend and former neighbor
works for Miami Dade fire rescue and has been on the scene almost nonstop.
They did report that a woman had called her husband just prior telling him that there was a big sinkhole where the pool was located. Then the phone went dead.

It seems like we were just talking about the New Orleans Hard Rock Hotel collapse not too long ago. These incidents seem like they're becoming more common than they should be.

^ Makes me think "what if" the Hard Rock NOLA had been finished, opened, and occupied when it collapsed.
