The downtown core viewed from across the lake featuring 160 Front Street West (TD) u/c. Interesting how the lake appears to rise above the bottom half of the towers. Pinnacle's super-tall SkyTower will join this view near the far right of the photo.

There was a time I was sure Skytower would pass The One in construction progress but it looks like they have gotten into a groove at Yonge and Bloor now. the floor plates are pretty much copy and paste now.

They need to rip up Yonge and Bloor Street and try again. The road looks like a disaster.

All things “M City” in Mississauga from Rogers Real Estate… 5 towers so far of which 4 are near or taller than 200 metres. Tallest is M3 @ 260 metres. Full build out of M City will be 8 towers, 15 acres and 4.3 million square feet.

Wonder if wireless internet will be available in the towers. Missie sure gettin’ tall.

All true... but there are 3 towers in Toronto in site prep that are taller and 1 that is the same height. Soon M3 wll be tied for 8th place in Canada.

I had no idea they were already starting on the 4th tower. The fifth tower reminds me of Pinnacle's Etobicoke Centre series of towers on Dundas I believe. If it's any better quality I'd be surprised.

i think the fifth tower is rental. The next condo is another 60 storey behemoth.

Next year's UT award for best skyscraper should be more interesting. M City will be battling 160 Front.

The One | 338.3m(?) | 94s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners l u/c

The City says no to the height increase citing “Jesse Ketchum Park” shadowing (huge suprise lol): this despite shadow studies on Jesse Ketchum which one UT forumer describes as “a relatively small amount of additional shadowing on Jesse Ketchum at 10 in the morning, and a shadow which will move extremely quickly given the distance of the building from the park. There is no incremental shadow impact at 9am, nor at 11am.”

This height tug of war will ultimately be decided at the Ontario Land Tribunal (who may look at the small/brief additional shadow on the park and tell Planning to take a hike if Mizrahi sweetens the pot a bit more ;-).

Forming up another floor. Six day turnaround to pour all the super-columns and walls to allow forming for the next level to start. Pretty quick.

After the snow, man they’re killin’ it… another floor pour today. That’s 1. pour a floor, 2. form up and pour the walls and super-columns, then 3. form up and pour another floor ... in under 2 weeks.

Of course the (gold-hued?) super-column and hanger cladding comes with a protective layer so we can’t check out the final colour chosen... grrrrr :-(

The floors are now keeping pace perhaps even catching up to the core. 2 weeks per floor though. One Yonge is going to blow past this one by mid summer.

As described, better than 2 weeks per floor.

2 weeks = a floor slab formed/poured + walls/super-columns formed/poured + another floor slab formed/poured.

Unless you think "a floor" is a floor slab + walls/columns + another floor slab.

Why not?

A floor is just a slab. A floor is also the space created between two suspended slabs supported by columns.

I'll post this here since the building has sold enough to start work. I know it won't be official until shovels hit the ground in the spring though.
