Not sure if this has been mentioned but the Shops at Big Deahl project apparently is going to include affordable condos!
Quote:
The project will bring more than 450 apartments to an area of town that has exploded with development in recent years.
But it will also bring affordable condos, a more rare form of housing, to the area that housed Cabrini Green.
Thirty-four units within the development’s five-story building will be affordable condos, according to plans.
To meet the city’s affordable housing requirements, the developer also plans to build 33 affordable townhomes at an off-site development at Harrison Street and Francisco Avenue.

There is scaffolding and an excavator (in the parking lot behind Fegan's) at Halsted and Lake. Believe the lot is slated for a hotel, which hopefully is starting soon.

Any idea of the design? Most I found were some elevations on Curbed, which looks like it'll be a pretty cool building reaching around 300'. Hopefully that is still the case
^From skyscrapercenter, which looks pretty recent. Quite a few more angles have been posted here before, by spyguy maybe, if you wanted to go spelunking
Has anyone heard or seen anything regarding the demolition of the two existing buildings on that location?

Demolition Permits were issued for 800, 808 and 810 W. Lake ST. on 12/9
But they were remodeling - who can you truss these days.

Cool looking structure, too. Different than the typical West Loop stuff that has been built recently. Looking forward to seeing some facade start in the new year.
