I recommend this channel, this is their latest video, but I assume they are working today. They have been working less due to the holidays but I think usually they work through the week and even saturdays now. I think I've also seen them work a rare sunday but I could be misremembering.

Because I visit family often, I'll be documenting this one while in town.

The benefit of having multiple 10-story parking garages nearby.

So, from the looks of things, no formwork on the mat quite yet, but all of the exposed connecting rebar is there just waiting to be encased in some concrete.

They did another big pour on the tower foundation. You can see the new concrete in the pics, however the cameras missed it because they were down.

Yep. It looks like some formwork arrived yesterday, and some was already sitting there prior. Do you think this is actually for impending tower work, or just a clear, out-of-the way space for them to temporarily store the formwork?

Watching the construction videos made me think of something: they are building these floors around the cranes, so what happens to that space once they are done and the cranes are removed?

They backfill it later with concrete forms.

As an outsider, I couldn't easily find it but where's the latest rendering for this one?

^ I would assume that whatever they show on their own website is the latest: rendering

https://www.hudsonssitedetroit.com/

But it will almost certainly change once the hotel operator is named later this year.

the last official renderings i've seen for the tower are from when it was still being billed as 912' tall.

Of course, the tower portion has since been scaled back to ~680' tall, but no new renderings of it have been released that i know of.

someone allegedly in the know told me that the overall massing and design remain quite similar, just scaled down. So here's a scaled down diagram that i made from koodoo's old drawing of the tower to show it at 680'.

So nothing at all official below; this is just to give an idea of what it might look like.

Ah yes, I forgot about that video. In this URL I have bookmarked the 2:10 point:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaYvu6WzqNA&t=2m10s

It looks obviously shorter than Steely Dan's renderings above, or the ones on https://www.hudsonssitedetroit.com/.

I’m still very much in denial of the downgrade.

Even at a scaled down height, it looks great! Thanks!

Oh cool! I haven't seen that yet.

I might try to stitch some screen grabs together.
