It's from Martin Leclerc, who is Radio-Canada's main hockey guy.

Also, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, probably the best hockey insider in Quebec, isn't naming names but says the Habs will be announcing a fairly major transaction by the end of the week. One that was already being negotiated at the draft but still hasn't been concluded yet.

Word is that it's Dubois himself who wants to be trade to Montreal. And he's looking for a long-term contract. (Note that the guy doesn't seem to have been happy anywhere he's played so far.)

Funny anecdote: there is a French soccer player by the name of Léo Dubois whose club status is up in the air right now. So if you do a search on Twitter it's full of messages in French about this "Dubois" guy being great or horrible, about wanting him on your team or not, but sometimes it's unclear which Dubois people are talking about.

In fairness, when has local Winnipeg media ever mentioned anything about the Jets that wasn't already announced by national media, "insiders" or TNSE's press releases? They are basically the unofficial PR staff for the team. And I can't blame them, if I had access to free trips to sunny locales all winter, free pregame buffets and a free seat to watch hockey all season long, I wouldn't want to piss off my masters either

There have been rumours about serious friction in the Jets dressing room. Scheifele and Wheeler are the names you most typically hear in connection with that... it's believed that's why Laine wanted out.

As noted before in this thread, something is badly broken in there and it pretty well has been since the 2018-19 season... Byfuglien and Maurice straight up quit, and several players demanded their exit.

Between all that nonsense and the Jets failing to grab Trotz, let's just say that fan enthusiasm is at a bit of a low ebb right now. I wouldn't want to be an account executive hustling season ticket renewals right about now.

Rick Bowness? When I think of him I think of a huge picture of the Queen over his head in the background!

Yeah, definitely a throwback name. I guess it is a familiar one to people in Ottawa!

When I got this card as a little kid back in the 80s, I never would have thought that one of the guys on it would be coaching the Jets decades later...

He is well liked, even if he isn't necessarily the guy everyone was hoping for. At least he has legit NHL credentials, unlike the guy before Paul Maurice, Claude Noel!

Not sure there is much on the Habs roster they can send back other than draft picks though?

Rumors out there Chicago looking to dump Toews. Jets might wanna try and land him and bring him home to St Vital here in Winnipeg to be with his mom and dad and can replace Wheeler as captain.

No surprise here. It was clear from the start Gaudreau would sign somewhere in the US.

Imagine turning down over 10 million dollars lol.
Although I'm sure he'll get a similar number elsewhere.

Limited time and few options locally.

It's great being an Oiler's fan tonight given the texts from my Flames friends, but karma is a bitch.

Ottawa Senators apparently making a very strong play for Claude Giroux.

That would be very exciting for this region!

Add Giroux + Klingberg and they are a playoff team.

Ottawa is going to be quite an exciting team to watch over the next 3-5.
