I think it's fine if it's built as the rendering shows. Plus, that parking lot sucks.

It would be nice to have something bigger there. We've only got one Union Station, and the land around it should be developed as intensely as possible.

But Union Station's been around for over 100 years, and this is the first development proposal to come along for this shitty parking lot (as far as I know) so I'm in favor.

I work a block away and there's already a fence around the existing building with some construction equipment as well.

Don't doubt this is the case, but at the same time still shaking my head in disbelief.....how can that possibly be?!

Sometimes the heard is stampeding so fast it forgets to look around for a few blocks at a time.

Agreed. It looks like it will provide a decent to above-average street-level experience. 14 floors certainly beat the pants off its immediate neighbors.

I wish it was a boutique office instead of a residential but the market just doesn't seem to call for it ATM. Always love another p-lot biting the dust.

One of those is the venerated Bombacingo's. RIP.

Living here would be sweet as you could roll out of bed and grab breakfast at Lou Mitchell's

I agree it's much better than an office tower with blank walls and no retail. I assume this will have several independent retail spaces available to be a traditional urban building. I will take that every time over extra height.

Update: I guess it only has one retail space planned at the corner, unfortunately, so that makes me appreciate it less.

Due to the zoning at the property site, the project is able to move ahead without first securing approval.

As long as they have a construction permit and financing lined up, I don't see why not?

This is a handsome building and a stylistically appropriate design for the neighborhood. . . I don't see the outrage

Looks handsome and well-proportioned to me. Nothing to complain about here.

Saw a bit of digging at the site earlier. The guys weren't sure when caissons would start.
