Hahaha. Well, I do not care about college football, so I'd be the wrong designer.

This has come up a few pages back, but do you think they added that orange for UT?

I have no idea.
Maybe the designer just likes the rusty color.

I think it's more about differentiating this tower from the others around it. I also think they (the architect) designed it to have more depth, texture and earthy-coloration than just a 1000'-tall blue glass monolith.

Agreed. I don't see a ton of this in their portfolio either. I think you're spot on with the texture/earthy element, especially with the anchor paseo.

I gotta say, driving up and down from SA yesterday, this thing looks SO good already. I can't wait to get a signature tower frame (RIP Frost) back from the 35 N drive-in. Wish I could've snapped pics.

Looks like a freshly remodeled shower with that giant brick pattern and fresh white grout. Hope it stays that way.

Are they going for the "Bellagio effect" (Vegas) where one 'brick' equals two floors (or the Wynn where one horizontal stripe = 2 floors), or are my eyes just deceiving me?
Hope not. No need to make it look shorter.

The "Bellagio effect" will be used for the residential portion. But we're not there yet.

Somebody please bring me up to speed on this project. Which portion is for hotel rooms, office space, and residential? What has been completed so far? I know the upper floors are for residential, but I am confused about the rest.

I personally love red-orange/tangerine for buildings. That and a solid granite accent

Hi, LONG TIME lurker and infrequent poster here. Just want to say thankyou to all of you posters who keep the rest of us updated, and a hat tip to gillynova who has been posting a lot of pics lately. I would love to have a red glassed building. I know next to nothing about building compared to a lot of people who post here. I think they are hesitant because of some of the colors radiate more heat than others. I believe that is why it is usually blue that is the color for buildings. I believe the American Bank Building was sued due to the gold colored windows radiating heat onto nearby buildings and driving up their costs.

Some interesting stuff going on in the front of the building. Lots of glass being installed for the lobby ground floor level.
