Im pretty sure they know that it will not be approved for 410 meters, but I think they are hoping that it might get chopped down only 100 meters so it will still be the tallest building in Seattle.

It should be approved at 350 meters, at least, if not 400 meters. That would be an optimal height for Seattle's new tallest. The skyline is already pretty tall, this one needs to break out from the rest.

Even the biggest NIMBY might think twice with something that beautiful dominating the skyline.

We've heard nothing about an architect getting selected.

Architects routinely post renderings for jobs they don't get hired for. Until they're selected it's premature to assume this is it.

Further, renderings from this early will often have little to do with the scope or height that actually enters the land use permitting process, let alone what gets built.

Anything about height that's not from the developer is pure speculation.

Are you sure? Some people seem to think a developer is proposing this building.

Wow! That tower looks amazing. I hope it gets built. It would add a lot to Seattle's already impressive skyline.

This might go the way of the "Heron Towers" proposal for Belltown before the Great Recession hit. Still, that's an inspiring rendering.

280-300 meters wouldn't be hard to take either. Might actually fit in better with the rest of DT! Would be nice to see some height in the N.E. area a little east of Belltown.

I actually like this one a lot, though I typically detest the "broken glass" aesthetic. This time there's a cohesiveness that's usually lacking.

Does anybody happen to have the rendering of this tower saved to their PC? I want to add it to YIMBY, but can't find it. I know the developer had it on their website, but took it down after a couple of days. If anybody has it saved or knows of a source, pm me.

Thanks

There is no rendering. All we've seen is a concept by an architect who may or may not have been hired.

It's funny that SSP people see something like that and think it's relevant to what the building might look like.

Here is the design vision so far from Gensler:
