Interesting Facts/Records (in own words):
The tower of Old Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church was when completed on September 1st, 1895 with a height of 113 metres the tallest church tower in Charlottenburg, which was until its incorporation to Berlin in 1920 an own city.
The church and its tower got badly damaged in an air raid in the night from November 22nd, 1943 to November 23rd, 1943, at which the tower lost its pinnacle and got its actual height of 71 metres. Old Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church was not rebuilt after World War II. However one demolished the relicts of the church -except the tower- in 1956 and erected a
modern church ( http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=100229 ), The tower ruin was stabilized and transformed into an anti-war memorial. It is today one of the most famous buildings in Berlin and one of the most famous saved ruins from World War II
