^ Yeah, that is bad. Part of it may be an awful rendering, but I think part of it is just P/H doing what P/H does. That beige is just killing me.

And what timing on the S Wabash proposal - was just talking about the gobs of upside for the general area, and right across the el tracks from the lot just mentioned. That's a nice shot of density. The design? Eh, it's mostly inoffensive forgettable infill, but nothing to get riled up over. The kinda project I like for Antunovich - not too high profile, the chance to eventually get swallowed up by its surroundings, etc. From what I can see looks like like a solid urban contribution. Wouldn't get in that hot tub on roof deck.

Yeah there's a lot going on there....lots of opportunity for some VEing anyway!

Since this project is supposed to be at least part co-living....that reminds me, wasn't there another proposal for a co-living development in Printer's Row? Can't recall details but wonder if that one is still alive....

Are you referring to the microapartments proposal from a long time ago?

That's a two-story Roots pizza now.

I'm guessing the upzone applies only to Marquette's Atrio site on Harrison and/or the Gateway development on Ogden. But I'd be happy to be proved wrong...
Looks like the Illinois Medical District is being upzoned, and they're implementing parking maximums. For the entire 373 acres, that's a wild amount of units they can build. For C2-5, the maximum amount of units permissible (not including efficiency units) is of order ~80,000 units! It's doubtful they'll build anywhere near that amount, but even a fraction of that is tremendous

I live in Tri Taylor and I am curious to see how the neighborhood will be affected by the rezoning.

I know it's very close to Polk, but a Pink Line station between 13th and Roosevelt would really allow for intense development in the vacant portion of this area.

A Pink Line stop at Roosevelt, dumping people between a Jewel loading dock and another parking lot, is a waste of money. I was always opposed to the idea of a Roosevelt stop, given the atrocious land use around the site. It's just a bus transfer that nobody will use.

However, a Pink Line stop at Roosevelt serving a new-build neighborhood at C2-5 density... now we're talking!! Especially if the Jewel strip and the heliport can be redeveloped, this could easily be a development on par with The 78, Lincoln Yards and Michael Reese.

This is indeed fantastic news. Could be Chicago's answer to Mission Bay in SF.
