YES! Thanks jla and please do keep us updated. I visited Minneapolis a few years back and was extremely surprised by how urban and vibrant the city center is. I've been pulling for MSP to get the attention it deserves. Also, that stadium is looking epic. I hope they move quickly on the park that will be facing it and the new Wells Fargo buildings.

I think you're in the majority NYC2ATX! We are often referred to as "fly over country". but a lot of good things happening not only in Minneapolis, but in St. Paul as well. The pictures don't do justice on the size and pure beauty US Bank Stadium is shaping out to be. The whole downtown east will look totally different in a few years once the stadium, and the new park are done. Thanks for the great feedback!

Proposed 50fl Mixed Use tower in Downtown Minneapolis

Quote from Franklin Street Properties quarterly webcast this month talking about a proposed mixed use tower right smack dab in the central core of Downtown Minneapolis...

"Additionally, we have made progress on a redevelopment plan for our CBD Minneapolis, Minnesota property located at 801 Marquette Avenue. Although subject to change, FSP currently contemplates co-developing an approximately 50-story, mixed-use tower that would include a full-service hotel, residential apartments and office space. Under the current plan, FSP would contribute the land and approximately $80 to $90 million in additional capital costs for 100% ownership of the office portion of the project, which is tentatively slated to be approximately 260,000 rentable square feet in the middle of the tower stack. FSP is working with a residential group and hotel company to further evaluate the project. Final costing and development agreements have yet to be concluded and are fully subject to change and/or cancellation. If successful in the costing and pre-development work ahead, we intend to break ground on the project sometime during the second half of 2016. Significant thought and design are being incorporated into the redevelopment of 801 Marquette Avenue in order to integrate it with and enhance the appeal of its next-door neighbor office building, FSP’s tower at 121 South Eighth Street".

Graves plans hotel and luxury apartment project near U.S. Bank Stadium
Nov 18, 2015, 1:47pm CST

Quote:
Graves Hospitality is partnering with Minneapolis landowner Basant Kharbanda to develop 150 luxury apartments and a 150-room hotel near U.S. Bank Stadium.
The site is a two-acre surface parking lot at the southeast corner of the Washington Avenue/Chicago Avenue intersection.

Graves Hospitality President Ben Graves said his company already has approval from Marriott International to put the hotel under the Marriott Moxy flag. That's the same brand Graves Hospitality is using for the Uptown hotel project that surfaced last week.
Moxy is a new boutique brand that is expanding from Europe to the U.S. It's geared toward traveling business people who might be working downtown but want to stay in a vibrant neighborhood within walking distance or a short transit trip from the city's center.

I really like the plans for the Kraus Anderson block. It is so much better than their original proposal. This is exactly what downtown east needs to fill up the rest of the parking lots and add some life to the area.
