To be Dolce and Gabbana tower it seems?

Dolce & Gabbana to brand Michael Stern’s condo tower in Miami
Italian fashion house also plans projects in Spain and the Maldives

Dolce & Gabbana is partnering with developer Michael Stern to brand a condo tower in Miami.

The Italian designer is the latest fashion house to work with a developer on branded condos in South Florida, as it expands into real estate worldwide. Dolce & Gabbana announced this week it planned two residential developments, including one in Miami with Stern’s JDS Development Group, and one in Marbella, Spain with Sierra Blanca Estates. It also plans a hotel in the Maldives with DarGlobal, Dolce & Gabbana said in a statement posted on its LinkedIn.

The development in Miami is likely JDS’ 888 Brickell project, which was previously expected to be a Major Food Group tower. The supertall, at 1,049 feet tall, could become among the tallest in Miami, with other towers also planned at that height.

Aside from Waldorf, which will rise, I think Miami will see more super talls rise soon.

Aside from NYC, Miami is leading the pack at a nice 2nd in terms of skyscrapers either rising or soon to rise. Which is historic in itself!!!
Once Miami completes many, if not all of the supertalls by 2030, it appears that Miami will have the second tallest number of skyscrapers only behind New York because of Miami's very small city limits (36 sq. mi. compared to NY's 300.46 sq. mi.), meaning that Miami needs taller buildings for condos, apartments, and hopefully co-operatives if it wants to grow into a much bigger major city.

The same will follow for regional cities like Miami Beach, Hialeah, Miami Gardens, Hollywood, Ft. Lauderdale, and as far as Naples and Ft. Myers. Even cities like Tampa, St. Petersburg, Orlando, and Jacksonville will have skyscrapers. The only way that happens is if the FAA gets rid of the stupid flight patterns that fly over FL downtowns and divert the flight patterns away from downtown, and I'm not sure if the FAA & the FL cities have a plan to do so, which can happen because it's not like aircraft have a fixed path along the sky like highways and railroads do.

Miami’s latest lavish skyscraper will be courtesy of Dolce&Gabbana
https://www.cnn.com/style/miami-skys...nts/index.html

Quote:
In Miami, a city where most of the coastal metropolis’s skyline shimmers in silver or reflects blue skies and water through glass, a fashionable newcomer will be outfitted in black and ivory, and topped with an elaborate gold crown.

Like the boning on a luxe corset, matte black steel beams will form its 90-story structure, topping out at 1,049 feet tall. Reaching the maximum allowable height set for the city by the Federal Aviation Admission, the skyscraper will tie for the city’s tallest building with other flashy forthcoming projects when it is completed in 2027, including the Waldorf Astoria Miami and Foster+Partner-designed The Towers.
The brand behind the new residential tower and 5-star hotel is familiar, too, but more for its runway shows and red-carpet appearances — the building, on 888 Brickell Avenue in Downtown Miami, marks Dolce&Gabbana’s first foray into real estate, expanding the Italian label’s influence from where you shop to where you sleep.

Nice, however, I would prefer a Versace branded tower , since he was more of a symbol of Miami with his mansion/death.

Site now up, includes aerial renderings and showcases the high-quality materials the development will include.

Supertall developments aren't visions anymore in Miami. We've seen with Waldorf Astoria so far that funding is available to come by with the current market.

Worst thing about this development is the podium but hopefully that isn't a concern for pedestrians once they see how bedazzled it is

Anything's possible, albeit such a Versace Tower would be more appropriate if it were built in Miami Beach, but then you'd have to contend w/ the NIMBYs that live there, but it would be nice to have such a tower in the area.

That's the best part of Miami, in that once finely designed projects gets proposed, not only do they get approved, but they usually get built within a decent amount of time. Some projects need to be sped up, but as long as the projects get built, then Miami will upgrade it's national and int'l profile amongst world class cities.

Is Waldorf funded or just approved?

Definitely a good start in any case.

In Brickell, Signage Installed For 90-Story Dolce Gabbana Tower

This is by the same developers of Mercedes Benz Places in Miami that is currently rising.
Quote:
Signage has been installed at the site of an upcoming sales gallery for the Dolce & Gabbana supertall tower, also known as 888 Brickell, according to photos by Phillip Pessar.

There’s also now an official website for the development, with new details.

The building will top off at 1,049 feet, the website says, which would make it a supertall. Developers said last year that it would have 90 stories.

The runways are fixed, the same for the flight paths.
