Does anyone know how long the spire will be down? I know they had to take it partially down to accommodate the crane, for the cladding near the spire.

Since they'll be doing this again...

It looked to me from my vantage point in Astoria that they've started reassembling the spire.

Pic by me. Taken today.

The spire is still not at its full height.

I have 1 Vandy spire withdrawal blues. Can't wait for the crane to be re-located.

I'm amazed they assembled the spire knowing they would have to disassemble it again. Unless they didn't know.

If they knew, kudos to them. Can't imagine shareholders agree with me, but I'm not a shareholder.

Possibly it was to test it. Unless maybe they found some deficiency and had to correct it. But from what we've seen, its the NYC blue light saber.

I suppose this "deficiency" is not a need for some additional height to the spire and that they are building an extension to the spire.

I like how it looks both contemporary and like it has been there forever. It fits perfectly.

My latest video in a while shows One Vandy as seen from Breezy Point, so why is the spire being neutered? My video buy QUEENSNY121:
