I believe this one is going to go to sales in the spring.

Looking forward to Portlands/Donlands redevelopment.

With this and the towers around the distillery district the skyline will really start expanding east.

That is how you do a podium.

Is the completion date 2013 or 2015? The UT article lists it as 2015.

Monde is pure class and is one of the most important projects in the pipeline. Providing a centre piece for the East Bayfront, similar to the impact of Queen's Quay Terminal on the central harbourfront. The public park and galleria will turn from being a regular condo into a destination. Tower looks very sharp and refined too, quality project overall.

Well it's still in sales, at the earliest it may start construction just before 2012 is out.

I'm not sure if that's the latest rendering. I believe I remember a very recent article quoting that the podium was modified to be "more sculptural"

Still, this project blows every other waterfront project away in terms of pedestrian experience. The podium could very well become the new "heart" of harborfront.

that rendering is older. the last rendering posted is more accurate in regards to the end of the podium.

I'm in two minds about this one. I like the height and top of the podium, but the side is very iffy.

This development is perfect for this area, providing great density, smart urban design and welcome pedestrian experience to an emptier area of Toronto's waterfront. It's great to see something that can really diverge from the regular glass box condo, and add an effective park/ podium combination aswell! Hopefully developers will learn from this development, so we can have a better Toronto for the future.

Toronto's waterfront is pretty crappy, can't wait to see how all this new development and re-development turns out...
