Fantastic set! So beautifully, almost hauntingly forlorn.

What are those houses like inside? A broad question I know, but can you modernize them with proper insulation, weather proofing etc.? I love the architecture but I imagine the ceilings are really low.

Thanks Shawn you would be surprised how modern those houses are inside they are better insulated and weatherproofed than a lot of the crap that's being built today.

I can see how such a setting could drive a teenager mad. But, boy, that's beautiful. Great shots!

No not really most tourist that come to Scotland start in Edinburgh then head up the West coast .The east coast is relatively unknown it just doesn't have the dramatic scenery of the West but has a rugged bleakness I like. The first photo is of Pennan which was the film location for an 80s film Local Hero starring Burt Lancaster and does get the odd film buff but most of the towns and villages along the coast are ordinary working towns.

Extraordinary landscape, I like the way the houses are side on to the coast, to withstand the wind.

Simply amazing. Looks a lot like that small town featured in the most recent James Bond film.

It looks... cold. There was (or maybe is) a Royal Marine base at Lossiemouth where my grandfather was stationed for a bit, but the cold is about all my mother remembers of it too.

Nice photos.

Great photos. I hope to visit Scotland someday and see where my ancestors came from. I'll try and visit the NE while I'm there.

Haunting, as I expected it would be. Thanks for the tour. The peripheral regions of Scotland have long been on my list of places to visit.
