The new building of the Orange County (CA) Museum of Art (OCMA) had its grand opening on Saturday, 10.8.2022. In my lifetime, OCMA was located at two previous buildings, a smaller one in Newport Beach, and then when the new building was under construction, the old one closed, and the museum was temporarily at a shopping center location in Costa Mesa.
The new museum location opened at 5pm, and was open for 24 hours for its opening day. I said to my partner "Hey, wanna go to it after midnight or something?" He said yes, so we did, and even at 3:30am, there was a line to get in. It seemed like a fast 50 minute line, though.
