Just the aesthetics. It's nothing personal, just not my cup of tea.

My own top 10
1. Chicago(Hometown bias of course but also perfect mix)
2. San Francisco(natural beauty, nice mix, nice new towers, looks amazing when youre crossing the bay bridge from oakland)
3. New York(sheer size, multi nodal)
4. Houston (Love all the buildings from the 80s)
5. Seattle (Looks really beefy when traveling on the ferry, the Columbia builidng is one of my favs)
6. Los Angeles( small but iconic and beautiful backdrop of the san gabriel mountains)
7. Philadelphia( nice mix of towers and looks beefy)
8. San Jose (I know its really short but at night it gives me blade runner vibes)
9. Detroit( small but it's sort of a time capsule and i appreciate that.
10. Atlanta( flew in one time and downtown looked like an island in the middle of a forest sea).

I know Vancouver and Toronto have many beefy skylines but nothing besides the cn tower stands out tbh.

That's so surprising to me. More Philly than LA on Instagram? With LA being such a big media market and tourism market you'd think it would perform better.

Yeah that list doesn’t pass the sniff test. Boston and Atlanta over HK? I don’t see Tokyo or SF on the list either. Maybe the algorithm is broken or the data was taken during the pandemic?

Interesting results! Definitely didn't expect to see San Jose mentioned in this thread.

its looks the best when heading towards downtown on the 87 from the airport at night. I honestly think it's just the lighting that makes it look as cool as it does.

Not the same angle, but there's a nice recent shot of the skyline with some snow on the peaks of the Diablo Range. It's almost like a mini LA!

WOW! Can you imagine a san jose skyline without the height restrictions and that natural backdrop?

Even though the district of la Défense helps in that matter, we're not renowned as a skyscraper city anyway.

We need a couple of supertalls to enter the upper skyline league. But you know, nimbyism is a plague in this city.

I think Paris frequently ranks as the "world's most beautiful city" online, as a cliché that even ends up boring people in the world.
That's because the central city is really hard to beat at street level.
It is a very pretty city indeed.

Now is it the most beautiful? I find the question to be naive and silly. There are many beautiful places in the world.

I was being facetious, guys.

Besides, there are so many more interesting and beautiful things in Paris to take pictures of that trumps taking a shot of its modern high-rises; I'm sure its skyline of modern high-rises isn't a priority for many visitors. It wasn't for me, anyway.

It's alright. You did or said nothing offensive.
I wish all people on Earth were as little offensive as you are...
That would be heaven.
