I was running through Grant Park today and I'm pretty sure this can be seen all the way from the Field Museum now.

Man. So many recognizable towers that didn't exist in 2016. NEMA, One Chicago, St. Regis, One Bennett. What an amazing cycle this has been.

^^ Wow, I am not sure I have seen this vista before. I like it even more than the one from the planetarium, because One Chicago is unobstructed, and because both NEMA and One Museum Park blend in with the skyline better.

What's the exact location of this vantage point?

EDIT: I think I just found it on Google Maps. It's near Burnham Park.

Great shot!
Yes, It's near the 39th Street exit off of LSD. Only a couple blocks from my home.

Also, the BMO tower, while not in that photo, is making a major impact and can be easily seen as you drive up LSD from the south.

How many more floors to go on One Chicago?
About as tall as the current crane height, or more?

Really loving how layered the skyline is looking! SO much more depth than even 10 years ago.

Not sure about floors but I think 100 to 140' from top of form. I am estimating by the bird's eye (from Willis?) last photo from harryc. It is difficult to tell from perspective, but you can see it compared to 900 N Michigan and Park Tower whose roofs are 871' and 824' respectively. Also the final 971' should be about halfway between Park Tower (824' ) and Hancock 1128'.

L72 will be placed on Friday and the crane will make its final jump this weekend. Then 6 more floors to go to the top. Topping off will take place in mid-June and enclosure will be finished by the end of July.

Awesome - thanks for info. The final crane jump will be something to look forward to this weekend as it will give us a clear idea of how the final height is going to look on the skyline.

Love it! I arrive in town a week from this weekend for the Summer. It will be a joy to watch this thing wrap up while I am there.

PSA: as prognosticated by Bombardier, they are jumping the crane now. I still don't believe they've inserted any pieces yet as of 3:00 pm.

Also, this building is ******* amazing. Pictures don't do it justice.

It doesn't look like they did the jumping Saturday - maybe they were just prepping. So I presume they'll continue today Sunday for anyone that wants to go take a look-see at this final jump to ~ 1000 feet.

There was far too much wind to jump the crane yesterday, unfortunately. The removal of the smaller crane was able to continue and it looks like they are going to use the sections from the smaller crane for the jump of the taller crane next weekend.
