I have never seen a larger model. It has to be seen in person to truly understand the size.. It must be about 9-10 ft tall.

Pardon the quality, but there are no lights in there and it was 10pm.

That's about 715 feet.

Now if only we could get another 10 or so proposals in this range.

The skyline would bulk up considerably.

For what it is, it's not that bad.

The height is a bonus, and it gives a focal point to the Etobicoke Shores community.

It looks like the people living on the first 40 floors of the taller tower will not even have a view of downtown...

The number of highrises right now is even surpassing New York Cities by a large margin. Source: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/repor...rticle4629888/

According to Emporis, Toronto now has 147 high-rises and skyscrapers under construction, compared to 72 in New York City.

Sounds like the first 44 floors now may suffer that obscured view.

the view from one of those floors "that won't be able to see toronto". this is taken from the middle of the southern side of the north tower.

I think it is safe to say you can see Toronto.

I'd be willing to pay millions for a top floor penthouse that views downtown Buffalo! hehe

It's likely one could see Niagara Falls; not sure about Buffalo.

Toronto will have to keep growing much faster than New York for a few decades if its ever to catch up. I'd settle for a 20 year boom though.

we are currently looking at 2016 for everything to be finished if nothing else begins construction. that's 11-13 years minimum, depending where you think the boom started. (2005 for One King west, or 2003 for Pantages) 16 years if you count the beginning of construction for this boom.

I count from roughly 2006. That's when things started to pick up. You're right that the current slate of projects would take us to at least 2016. The proposals would take us to 2018-2020. If Toronto can keep the party going till about 2026 the city could very well elevate itself to the top flight of cities in terms of skyscrapers/skyline.

It was not just Pantages that got going in 2003, in fact I think it started before that time, but it was also the first few stages of Cityplace that got going at that time or slightly before.. Maybe 2002.

The true ramp up to the construction boom, likely began in the late 1990's though. It was all building to this.
