Just posted in the highrise thread, but there is some great news on this building. Because of how badly Philadelphia needs hospital beds right now, Penn has fast tracked this building and even though it wasn't supposed to be ready for another 15 months, it will now apparently be finished in less than one.

As I said in the other thread, the entire building will NOT be completed in the next month or so--just enough to accommodate 119 new patient beds. The entire building, when it's completed, will contain about 500 new private, single-occupancy patient rooms, 50 new operating rooms, and other facilities. It's still good news that 119 new patient beds will soon be added to Penn's immediate supply.

that's incredible, and is going to be a huge logistics problem. it's still a very active construct site.

^Pic is from the Foster and Partners IG page, caption mentioned this:

"...crews work around the clock to finish part of the new hospital, 15 months ahead of schedule, to make more beds available to care for patients with #COVID19."

Does anyone know if they fixed the lights (art) on the south Street bridge yet? Think is should have been fixed by now.

^ Good question, because PA currently appears to have enough regular and ICU beds.

Partly operational:

From Billy Penn:
https://billypenn.com/2020/04/28/pen...cept-patients/

This will take non-COVId patients, if room is needed in the main hospital. Which at the moment it isn't.
