I still haven't fully processed how much I love this design. I might like this design more than 900 W Randolph

Sorry guys, but this design is old, and at least a couple floors taller than what is being built. The current design is much closer to the "Harry Potter" scheme but 19 floors and with a hybrid wall instead of window wall with slab covers. I would share a rendering but I am not sure how public it is yet.

The building design is nothing more than a boring unimaginative box. Another wasted opportunity with filler. Sad.

I did a little digging and found this link on a public site.

http://gisapps.chicago.gov/gisimages...pds/PD1300.pdf

Would this be the updated design?

^ Since the one in the PD is from June 2022, then it's likely the current design. Looks like Goettsch Partners is the architect

Bummer that this design took a height haircut. It looks substantially shorter than both Landmark and Avra, its two neighboring buildings, making the 290 street wall look a bit underwhelming as a result.

Hopefully something tall comes one day to the Shell station at Racine or the empty lot at 1200 W Van Buren.

Great, a shorter building with a crappier design

It's comparative height may be a quirk of the renderings. I pulled up the PD for Avra and it is shown as being 220 feet to the roof, 230 feet to the top of structure. 1061 in the PD is shown as 225'-7" to the top of screenwall. Certainly they are both 20 floors tall including the screenwall of 1061.

The design from 2015 years ago was 274' tall.
